About
A quiet work of definition
TrueBride.org exists to teach Scripture through long-form theological papers, in a reading environment free of noise, urgency, and clutter.
Mission
Recovering the language, identity, and devotion of the Church as the pure Bride of Christ.
Thesis
The Church is identified in Scripture as a bride, and bridal identity is constituted by covenant union with one Husband. Every term defined here serves that single claim.
Purpose
To define carefully before defending loudly. Most disagreement about the Church is disagreement about words, and words left undefined produce devotion left unformed. Each paper published here begins with the text, works through the typology, consults the earliest witnesses, and ends with pastoral application.
“Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.”
Ephesians 5:25–27
Vision
A generation of believers who can say plainly who the Bride is, where they belong, and why the distinction matters — and who read Scripture slowly enough to see it for themselves.
Beliefs
- 1. The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired word of God and the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
- 2. Salvation is by grace, through faith in the crucified and risen Christ, and issues necessarily in a changed life.
- 3. The Church is the Bride of Christ: one, holy, and constituted by union with her Bridegroom rather than by institutional descent.
- 4. The Kingdom of God is both present and awaited, and the Church lives faithfully only when both are held together.
- 5. Christ will return, and the Bride will be presented to Him without spot or wrinkle.
